Share market update: BSE Smallcap index up; Waterbase surges 13%

NEW DELHI: BSE Smallcap index advanced in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Waterbase (up 12.55 per cent), Olectra Greentech (up 8.51 per cent), RPG Life Sciences (up 8.15 per cent), Generic Engineering and construction (up 6.97 per cent), SORIL Infra Resources (up 6.32 per cent) and Rain Industries Ltd (up 5.93 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Marathon (down 8.19 per cent), Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 5.0 per cent) , Alok Industries (down 4.98 per cent), JBF Industries (down 4.93 per cent) and Simplex Infrastructures (down 4.9 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.17 per cent up at 13410.07 around 10:49 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16.50 points at 12205.15, while the BSE Sensex was 56.12 points at 41502.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, NCC, Tata Steel, SAIL, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., JSPL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
