Share market update: BSE Smallcap index up; Indraprastha Medicals jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: THe BSE Smallcap index was trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Emmbi Industries Ltd (up 7.06 per cent), BGR Energy Systems (up 5.39 per cent), Indraprastha Medical Corporation (up 5.31 per cent), Radico Khaitan (up 5.26 per cent), GENCON (up 5.17 per cent), Seya Industries (up 5.0 per cent), Simplex Infrastructures (up 4.98 per cent) and Reliance Infrastructure (up 4.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Dishman Carbogen (down 16.09 per cent), Kesoram Industries (down 11.95 per cent), Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 4.99 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (down 4.88 per cent), Sintex Plastics (down 4.84 per cent), Mercator (down 4.82 per cent), Kwality Ltd (down 4.82 per cent), Jaypee Infratech (down 4.73 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 3.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.23 per cent up at 13412.92 around 10:01 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was down 0.85 points at 12261.9, while the BSE Sensex was 9.44 points at 41633.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSPL, Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment, BHEL, Relaxo Footwear and Spicejet were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
