Share market update: BSE Power index up; RInfra jumps over 6%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Power index was up in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 6.48 per cent), Siemens (up 2.87 per cent), Thermax (up 2.66 per cent) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 1.76 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Tata Power Company (down 1.60 per cent), JSW Energy (down 1.46 per cent), KEC International (down 0.91 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 0.91 per cent) were trading in the red.


The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.42 per cent up at 1942.43 around 11:04 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 59.35 points at 11,533.80 while the BSE Sensex was up 183.87 points at 38,851.20.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, IDFC First Bank, IDBI Bank, Ashok Leyland, NCC, BPCL and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
