Share market update: BSE Power index up; Adani Power jumps over 5%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Power index was trading higher in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Adani Power (up 5.73 per cent), Adani Transmission (up 5.72 per cent), JSW Energy (up 3.13 per cent) and Reliance Infrastructure (up 2.07 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Tata Power Company (up 1.70 per cent), KEC International (up 1.48 per cent), NTPC (up 0.91 per cent) and CESC (up 0.61 per cent) too were trading in the green.


The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 2132.20 around 11:45 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 32 points at 11,833.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 125.20 points at 39,561.30.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Adani Power, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Adani Green Energy, Dish TV India, PNB, Adani Enterprises, Union Bank India and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
