Share market update: BSE Oil & Gas index up; BPCL, IOC among top gainers

NEW DELHI: OMCs were trading in the green in Tuesday's session with their sectoral index on BSE trading higher.

Shares of Petronet LNG (up 1.82 per cent) , Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 1.41 per cent) , Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.13 per cent) and Reliance Industries (up 0.54 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (up 0.19 per cent) and Castrol India (up 0.07 per cent) too were among the top gainers in the index.


The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.45 per cent up at 15,383.69 around 11:13 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.25 points at 11,646.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 118.75 points at 39,179.63.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Infosys, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, ITC, Vakrangee, Tata Motors and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
