Share market update: BSE Oil & Gas index up; BPCL, HPCL among top gainers

NEW DELHI: OMCs were trading in the green in Friday's session with their sectoral index on BSE trading higher.

Shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 3.68 per cent) , Castrol India (up 3.01 per cent) , Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (up 2.17 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation (up 2.12 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Petronet LNG (up 1.15 per cent) , Indraprastha Gas (up 1.00 per cent) , GAIL (India) (up 0.32 per cent) and Gujarat State Petronet (up 0.14 per cent) too were trading higher.


The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 1.10 per cent up at 15,296 around 10:55 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 3.35 points at 11,579.25 while the BSE Sensex was down 9.54 points at 39,010.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NCC, IDFC First Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, BHEL, SBI and Sterlite Tech were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
