Share market update: BSE Oil & Gas index up; BPCL, HPCL among top gainers

NEW DELHI: OMCs were trading in the green in Wednesday's session with their sectoral index on BSE trading higher.

Shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 4.97 per cent) , Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (up 1.61 per cent) , Castrol India (up 1.08 per cent) and Reliance Industries (up 0.56 per cent) were trading higher.

Gujarat State Petronet (up 0.55 per cent) , Indian Oil Corporation (up 0.51 per cent) , Petronet LNG (up 0.29 per cent) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (up 0.07 per cent) too were trading in the green.


The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 1.03 per cent up at 15,047.77 around 10:58 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.75 points at 11,456.05 while the BSE Sensex was up 78.30 points at 38,584.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, Castrol India, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors (DVR) and Dish TV India were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
