Share market update: BSE Oil & Gas index down; BPCL, HPCL among top losers

NEW DELHI: OMCs were trading in the red in Thursday's session with their sectoral index on BSE trading lower.

Shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (down 4.15 per cent), GAIL (India) (down 2.02 per cent), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (down 2.01 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation (down 1.21 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
Gujarat State Petronet (down 0.96 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (down 0.70 per cent) and Reliance Industries (down 0.21 per cent) too were trading lower.


The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 1.20 per cent down at 15,025.86 around 10:56 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 29.45 points at 11,574.65 while the BSE Sensex was down 75.48 points at 38,983.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NCC, NBCC, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, BHEL and Zensar Tech were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
