Share market update: BSE Midcap index flat; RInfra gains 5%

NEW DELHI: BSE Midcap index was trading flat with equal gainers and losers in the Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 4.94 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 4.71 per cent), Reliance Capital (up 4.62 per cent), Reliance Power (up 2.83 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (up 2.81 per cent), NBCC (India) (up 2.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Union Bank of India (down 2.41 per cent), PNB Housing Finance (down 1.96 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.44 per cent), GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare (down 1.14 per cent), Bank of India (down 1.05 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.08 per cent up at 14830.47 around 09:34 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 14.55 points at 12179.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 54.18 points at 41406.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, YES Bank, Asian Paints, HCL Tech, Tata Motors, EIH, Bank of Baroda, SAIL and NCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
