Share market update: BSE Midcap index advances; RInfra climbs 5%

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 14838.83.

Infrastructure (up 4.95 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (up 4.63 per cent) and Reliance Capital (up 4.28 per cent) were among the top gainers in the index.
NEW DELHI: The Midcap index was trading in the green zone in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 4.95 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (up 4.63 per cent), Reliance Capital (up 4.28 per cent), National Aluminium Company (up 2.79 per cent), NLC India (up 1.72 per cent), United Breweries (up 1.65 per cent), Reliance Power (up 1.51 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 1.2 per cent) and Godrej Agrovet (up 1.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While CRISIL (down 4.17 per cent), Reliance Communications (down 3.49 per cent), P & G Hygiene (down 1.19 per cent), MPhasis Ltd. (down 1.07 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.97 per cent), Info Edge (India) (down 0.84 per cent), Endurance Techno (down 0.75 per cent), Petronet LNG (down 0.73 per cent) and IDBI Bank (down 0.53 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 14838.83 around 09:47 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 9.85 points at 12272.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 29.56 points at 41672.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Relaxo Footwear, Tata Motors, JSPL, Spicejet, Zee Ent., BHEL and Lux Industries Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
