Share market update: BSE Midcap index advances; Reliance Capital gains 5%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was trading on a positive note in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of NBCC (India) (up 5.35 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (up 5.28 per cent), Reliance Capital (up 4.96 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 4.94 per cent), Reliance Power (up 4.9 per cent), Reliance Infrastructure (up 4.88 per cent), Piramal Enterprises (up 3.57 per cent), Oberoi Realty (up 3.54 per cent), PNB Housing Finance (up 3.51 per cent) and Varroc Engineering (up 3.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While ABB India Ltd (down 3.12 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (down 2.52 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (down 2.0 per cent), Hindustan Aeronautics (down 1.85 per cent), Havells India (down 1.68 per cent), Cummins India (down 1.57 per cent), RBL Bank (down 1.49 per cent), Blue Dart Express (down 1.15 per cent) and MRF (down 1.11 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.31 per cent up at 15452.12 around 11:58 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty-50 index was down 57.25 points at 12305.05, while the BSE Sensex was 201.38 points at 41751.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NBCC , NCC, SAIL, JSPL, Ambuja Cements, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Trident Ltd and Kotak Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
