Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index up nearly 1%; Siemens jumps over 4%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.83 per cent up at 18,572.60 around 02:30 pm on Wednesday.

Shares of Siemens (up 4.37 per cent), GE T&D India (up 4.04 per cent), BEML (up 2.23 per cent) and Elgi Equipments (up 1.40 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Schaeffler India (down 3.23 per cent), Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 2.61 per cent), Thermax (down 2.01 per cent) and HEG (down 1.88 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 55.80 points at 10,719.3 while the BSE Sensex was up 142.84 points at 35,612.99.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Reliance Communications, JP Associates, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vakrangee, Spicejet, CG Power and Industries, Jet Airways, PC Jeweller, Adani Power, IDFC Bank, Infibeam Avenues, SBI, Tata Power, Bank of India, DHFL, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, PNB and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
