Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index up; CG Power surges 6%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading higher in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of CG Power and Industrial Solutions (up 6.03 per cent), Havells India (up 1.40 per cent), BEML (up 1.30 per cent) and Sadbhav Engineering (up 0.96 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

HEG (down 3.53 per cent), Graphite India (down 1.49 per cent), Finolex Cables (down 1.31 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 1.22 per cent) were trading lower.


The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.25 per cent up at 18,194.97 around 12:08 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32.05 points at 11,608 while the BSE Sensex was up 99.70 points at 38,664.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Reliance Communications, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, Indiabulls RE, PC Jeweller, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, SAIL, Reliance Capital, Jet Airways, Adani Power, Sterlite Tech, ONGC, JP Associates, IFCI, PNB, Infibeam Avenues, Dish TV India and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
