Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index rises; BEL jumps 8%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was up in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Bharat Electronics (up 7.91 per cent), Dilip Buildcon (up 4.73 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 3.83 per cent) and BEML (up 3.78 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

ABB India (up 3.54 per cent), Suzlon Energy (up 3.36 per cent), Siemens (up 3.28 per cent) and Carborundum Universal (up 3.27 per cent) too were trading higher.


The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 2.74 per cent up at 19,442.29 around 12:20 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 94.55 points at 11,751.60 while the BSE Sensex was up 321.89 points at 39,133.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of GRUH Finance, Spicejet, Prism Johnson, Vodafone Idea, Bank of Baroda, YES Bank, BEL, Dish TV India, Adani Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
