Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index down; BHEL slumps over 7%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was down in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 7.47 per cent), Graphite India (down 5.99 per cent), Finolex Cables (down 3.46 per cent) and HEG (down 3.42 per cent) were trading with losses.

Bharat Electronics (down 2.97 per cent), Elgi Equipments (down 2.16 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (down 2.11 per cent) and Thermax (down 1.79 per cent) too were trading in the red.


The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 1.71 per cent down at 17,004.54 around 11:55 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.70 points at 11,061.95 while the BSE Sensex was down 177.46 points at 37,404.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
