Share market update: Bank shares up; SBI rises over 1%
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.53 per cent up at 19511.5 .

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Wednesday's session.
Shares of IndusInd Bank (up 1.47 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.33 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.32 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.68 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.56 per cent), Bandhan Bank (up 0.41 per cent) and IDFCBANK (up 0.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.53 per cent up at 19511.5 around 02:15 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 165.25 points at 9146.7 , while the BSE Sensex was up 619.86 points at 31256.57 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, ONGC, RIL, SBI, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Zee Ent., RBL Bank Ltd., Vedanta and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
