Share market update: Bank shares up; IndusInd Bank jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading higher in Wednesday's session.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (up 7.44 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 4.63 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 3.53 per cent) , RBLBANK (up 2.46 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 2.39 per cent) , IDFCBANK (up 0.88 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.76 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.54 per cent up at 22749.5 around 11:46AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 28.10 points at 10771.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 121.46 points at 36553.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, SBI, Bank of Baroda, IndusInd Bank, PNB, L&T Fin Holding, Tata Motors, BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
