Share market update: Bank shares up; HDFC Bank rises over 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

Shares of HDFC Bank (up 3.49 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 3.14 per cent) , Federal Bank (up 2.79 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.85 per cent) , RBLBANK (up 1.74 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 0.98 per cent) , Bandhan Bank (up 0.91 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 0.87 per cent) and IDFCBANK (up 0.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.04 per cent up at 20319.35 around 11:49AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 135.60 points at 9949.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 471.57 points at 33700.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, SAIL, PNB, SBI, BHEL, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda and Bank of India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
