Share market update: Bank shares gain; YES Bank rises over 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of YES Bank (up 2.24 per cent), RBL Bank (up 1.48 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.83 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.73 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

IndusInd Bank (up 0.66 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.42 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.37 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.12 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.48 per cent up at 30,715.20 around 09:54 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 33.70 points at 11,589.60 while the BSE Sensex was up 108.68 points at 38,839.50.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, PNB, REC, Dish TV India, SAIL, Tata Motors, InterGlobe Aviation and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
