Share market update: Bank shares down; Federal Bank dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Thursday's session.

Shares of Federal Bank (down 2.35 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (down 1.24 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 1.23 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 0.98 per cent) , IDFCBANK (down 0.91 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 0.5 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down 0.43 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 0.39 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.49 per cent down at 21321.4 around 11:56AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.20 points at 10288.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 50.84 points at 34818.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, SBI, Bank of Baroda, GAIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, ITC and RBL Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
