Share market update: Auto shares trade lower; TVS Motor slips 3%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.66 per cent down at 8,592.2 around 11:10 am on Wednesday with most of its components trading in red.

Shares of TVS Motor Company (down 3 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 2.57 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR)(down 1.53 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 1.17 per cent),were the top losers in the auto pack.

Eicher Motors (down 1.05 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.92 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.89 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.71 per cent), too appeared among top laggards.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.20 points at 10,171 while BSE Sensex was up 89.64 points at 33,936.87 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, BPCL, Ambuja Cements, Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors, HPCL, L&T Fin Holding, Idea Cellular, Ashok Leyland, RIL, Adani Ports SEZ, Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
