Share market update: Auto shares mixed; Apollo Tyres rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Apollo Tyres (up 2.05 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.36 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.82 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.69 per cent) were trading with gains.

Ashok Leyland (down 1.05 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.78 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.78 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.66 per cent) were trading lower.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.17 per cent up at 7030.30 around 09:53 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 42.60 points at 11,003.50 while the BSE Sensex was down 154.92 points at 37,296.92.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, RBL Bank, NBCC, Sun Pharma, SAIL, Bank of Baroda and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
