Share market update: Auto shares in the red; Tata Motors down 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Tata Motors (down 2.87 per cent ), Ashok Leyland (down 2.17 per cent ) , TVS Motor Company (down 1.84 per cent ) and Bharat Forge (down 1.17 per cent ) were the top losers in the index.

Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.04 per cent ) , Bosch (down 1.03 per cent ) , Apollo Tyres (down 0.52 per cent ) and MRF (down 0.25 per cent ) too were trading lower.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.21 per cent down at 8133.30 around 09:46 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30 points at 11,810.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 56.62 points at 40,059.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Adani Power, BHEL, Bank of Baroda, GMR Infra, Tata Motors and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
