Share market update: Auto shares in the green; Tata Motors up 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Tata Motors (up 3.12 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 2.16 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 1.98 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 1.36 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 1.01 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.0 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.83 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.76 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.69 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.66 per cent), Bosch (up 0.66 per cent), MRF (up 0.65 per cent), Exide Industries (up 0.49 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.01 per cent up at 8238.8 around 09:45 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 87.70 points at 12143.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 293.96 points at 41,260.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SAIL, Bharti Airtel, United Spirits, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda and Indian Oil Corp were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
