Share market update: Auto shares in the green; Motherson Sumi up 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.62 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 1.03 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 1.02 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.93 per cent) , Exide Industries (up 0.75 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (up 0.63 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 0.43 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (up 0.27 per cent) , Bosch (up 0.27 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (up 0.16 per cent) and MRF (up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 8394.60 around 09:48 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.95 points at 12,388.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 186.06 points at 42,058.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, BEL, SAIL, SBI, Tata Motors, JSPL, BHEL and NBCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
