Share market update: Auto shares in the green; M&M up 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.49 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 1.26 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.03 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.66 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Apollo Tyres (up 0.64 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.62 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.35 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.22 per cent) too were trading with gains.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.20 per cent up at 7971.40 around 09:52 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 18.05 points at 11,240.10 while the BSE Sensex was up 65.53 points at 37,384.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Union Bank India, DHFL, SBI, PC Jeweller, ITC, SAIL, PNB and ZEEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
