Share market update: Auto shares gain; Amara Raja Batteries up 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.84 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.48 per cent), Exide Industries (up 1.07 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.84 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.77 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.77 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.61 per cent), TATAMDVR (up 0.57 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.51 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 0.43 per cent), MRF (up 0.35 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.34 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.19 per cent) and Bharat Forge (up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.51 per cent up at 7932.75 around 09:46 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 99.45 points at 12207.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 359.96 points at 41576.10.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, SBI, Tata Motors, Coal India Ltd, Ashok Leyland, NALCO and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
