Share market update: Auto shares down; Ashok Leyland dips 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Friday's session.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (down 4.54 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 3.32 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 2.71 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 2.59 per cent), Apollo Tyres (down 2.57 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 2.11 per cent), Bosch (down 1.89 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 1.56 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 1.46 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.86 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.37 per cent) and MRF (down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.99 per cent down at 5410.55 around 02:08 pm.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 145.75 points at 9168.15 , while the BSE Sensex was down 485.79 points at 31377.29 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RIL, SBI, RBL Bank Ltd., NALCO, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Vedanta , YES Bank and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
