Share market update: Auto shares down; Ashok Leyland dips 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Ashok Leyland (down 1.1 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.99 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.71 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.55 per cent), Bosch (down 0.52 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.24 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 0.16 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.02 per cent up at 6940.15 around 09:46 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 40.15 points at 11291.15 , while the BSE Sensex was up 151.73 points at 38561.21 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta, GAIL, GMR Infra and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
