Sensex up; Neyveli Lignite among stocks that plunged over 5% in trade

NEW DELHI: The benchmark equity index BSE Sensex was trading 128.07 points up at 29,460.23 in the afternoon trade on Friday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.

Neyveli Lignite (down 7.35 per cent), Guj NRE Coke (down 5.88 per cent), Pearl Global (down 5.52 per cent), NBI Industrial Finance Company (down 5 per cent) and Beardsell Ltd (down 5 per cent) are some of the stocks that were trading over 5 per cent lower in the afternoon trade around 12.25 pm (IST).

In the Nifty pack, 30 stocks were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

The Nifty index was trading 30.65 points higher at 9,116.95 around 12.25 pm (IST).

On the NSE, KSS Ltd, Zenith Birla, Guj NRE Coke, Pearl Global, Gallantt Ispat, Ortel Communications Ltd., JMT Auto, TGB Banquets, Viji Finance, MT Educare, ANG Industries, Intense Tech hit their fresh 52-week low, while Cimmco Ltd, IVP Ltd, DCM Shriram Cons, Shreyans Ind, Welspun Ent., Jai Balaji Inds, KEC Int. Ltd, Alkyl Amines, Puravankara Prj, Star Ferro Cem, Eros Media, and Skipper Ltd touched their fresh 52-week high today.
