Sensex surges; Adani Power, Hindustan Composites, Pioneer Distilleries slip over 5% in morning trade

NEW DELHI: The benchmark equity index BSE Sensex was trading 174.65 points higher at 29,750.39 in the morning trade on Tuesday following global cues.

Shares of Adani Power (down 15 per cent), Hindustan Comp (down 9.09 per cent), Pioneer Distil (down 7.62 per cent), Vedanta Ltd (down 6.33 per cent), Websol Energy (down 5.48 per cent), Tata Power (down 5 per cent), JITF Infralogistics Ltd. (down 4.94 per cent), Blue Coast Hotel (down 4.59 per cent), and GM Breweries (down 4.54 per cent) declined over 4 per cent intraday in morning trade.

In the Nifty pack, 40 stocks were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

The Nifty index was up 48.05 points at 9,229.5 in morning trade.

Shares of GM Breweries, Persistent Systems, Shekhawati Poly, FCS Software, Rasoya Proteins, VKS Projects, and Farmax India hit their fresh 52-week low. Muthoot Capital, Ind Swift Ltd, Sterling Bio, Jindal Worldwide, Manaksia Steels Ltd., N R Agarwal Ind, Agri-Tech (India), Aditya Birla Money, Vimta Labs, Archies Ltd, Kopran Ltd, and REC touched their fresh 52-week high today.
