NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Sensex pared most of its morning gains and was trading in a narrow range, weighed down by losses in Infosys, ONGC, RIL, Tata Motors and L&T.

Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index also pared gains after reclaiming its crucial psychological level of 8350, weighed down by losses in IT, realty, oil & gas and auto stocks.

At 10:20 a.m.; the 30-share index was at 27576, down 9 points or 0.03 per cent. It touched a high of 27670.19 and a low of 27554.77 in trade today.

The Nifty was at 8335 up 12 points or 0.15 per cent. It touched a high of 8356.30 and a low of 8321.85 in trade today.

HUL: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever has settled a case related to alleged non-compliance of takeover norms with capital markets regulator Sebi after a total payment of nearly Rs 2.60 lakh as settlement fee.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 0.4 percent lower at Rs 892.

UltraTech Cements Ltd: Kumar Mangalam Birla has decided to drop out of the race to buy overseas cement assets of Holcim & Lafarge. Ultratech confirmed to ET NOW that the company has not participated in the final bidding round, deadline for which ended on Monday.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 1.4 percent higher at Rs 2739.

CMC Ltd: IT firm CMC reported 2.2 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 72.11 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Reliance Communications Ltd: Anil Ambani-led telecom operator Reliance Communications has awarded a near Rs750-crore deal to the Indian unit of UK-based Vertex to outsource its call centre and shared services operations in an aggressive restructuring move aimed at exiting non-core businesses and reducing customer care support costs by at least a fifth.

GMR Infrastructure Ltd: The infrastructure major has started roadshows for unit Delhi International Airport Ltd's (DIAL) maiden overseas bond issue, two people with knowledge of the matter said.

NTPC Ltd: India's biggest electricity generator, will invite tenders this month for the construction of a $1.2 billion, joint venture power project to be built in Bangladesh.

Yes Bank Ltd: Private sector lender Yes Bank plans to raise up to Rs 3,000 crore in tier-II or non-equity capital by September this year, a top official said.

Gujarat Gas Ltd: Gujarat Gas gets shareholder nod to merge co with GSPC Distribution.

Biocon Ltd: Biotechnology major Biocon today concluded sale of 10 per cent stake in its research arm Syngene for Rs 380 crore to IVF Trustee Company Private Ltd.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 2 percent higher at Rs 428.40.

Adani Enterprises Ltd: India's biggest private power producer and port owner, is taking giant strides in the energy sector. It's agreed to set up a joint venture with SunEdison that will invest.Rs 25,000 crore, or $4 billion, to make India's biggest solar photovoltaic manufacturing facility.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 1.4 percent lower at Rs 508.

Cipla Ltd: Cipla might re-start supplying anti-HIV drugs to the National Aids Control Organisation (Naco) in the next two months. The Mumbai-based drug company had, during the second half of last year, stopped bidding for Naco tenders, it is learnt.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 1.7 percent higher at Rs 642.

SREI Infrastructure Ltd: Hyderabad-based Deccan Chronicle Holdings Limited (DCHL) informed the BSE on Monday that it had issued 66 million shares of Rs 2 each at a premium of Rs 1.18 apiece to its lender SREI Infrastructure Finance.

At 10:20 a.m.; the stock was trading 0.9 percent higher at Rs 48.20.
