Sensex in red, Nifty below 8,100; top 20 trading bets

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Sensex plunged as much as 167 points in trade on Thursday snapping its nine day rally, led by losses in ICCI Bank, Tata Motors, L&T, RIL and Infosys.

Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index plunged below its crucial psychological level of 8,100, weighed down by losses in consumer durable, realty, banks, oil & gas and IT stocks.

At 3:03 p.m.; the 30-share index was at 27,075.58, down 64.36 points or 0.24 per cent. It touched a high of 27,169.12 and a low of 26,972.39 in trade today.

The Nifty was at 8,092.10 down 22.50 points or 0.28 per cent. It touched an intraday high of 8,114.80 and a low of 8,060.90.
