NEW DELHI: Shares of seed companies surged in trade on Tuesday after the government said it will continue to regulate seed prices.

Reacting to the development, scrips of Dhanuka Agritech, Monsanto, Sharda CropChem rallied as much as 5 per cent.

Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh has said that the government will not allow companies such as Monsanto to exploit farmers and it will continue to regulate prices of seeds, an ET report said.

Dhanuka Agritech gained 4.87 per cent, Sharda CropChem (3.61 per cent), Monsanto (4.41 per cent).
