Shares of security systems manufacturers picked up steam Monday after the recent terror attacks in Mumbai prompted companies to enhance their security.

MUMBAI: Shares of security systems manufacturers picked up steam Monday after the recent terror attacks in Mumbai prompted companies to enhance their security.

Issues such as physical security measures, access control, frisking and checking of baggage of guests, installation of gadgets like CCTV cameras, door frame metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors and X-ray baggage scanners took centrestage after the co-ordinated terror attacks in the city.

At 11:45 am, shares of scanner and smartcard maker Bartronics rose 3.57 per cent to Rs 63.25, Gemini Communications gained 3.68 per cent to Rs 18.30 and Bharat Electronics climbed 2.63 per cent to Rs 569.75.
