Sebi appoints Babita Rayudu as executive director

Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India(Sebi) said on Wednesday G. Babita Rayudu took charge as an executive director (ED).

She will handle the legal affairs department, enforcement department and special enforcement cell (SEC), the markets regulator said in a release.

Prior to her promotion as executive director, Rayudu was in the legal affairs department in Sebi.


In December, media reports had said Sebi has selected two internal candidates to fill the post of executive directors -- VS Sundaresan and Rayudu for the post of ED General and ED Legal respectively.

There were 15 applications received from outside Sebi but the regulator did not find any outsider fit for the post, the reports had said citing sources.
