Saurabh Mukherjea-led Marcellus Investment Managers has tied up with global investment manager VanEck to widen its global investment offering for Indian investors, moving beyond equities to a multi-asset strategy covering global equity ETFs, bond ETFs, commodities and real asset ETFs.

Under the collaboration, VanEck will provide model portfolio recommendations for the new multi-asset strategy, which will be structured and managed by Marcellus. Indian investors will be able to access the strategy through Marcellus GIFT City, the firm’s IFSC branch regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).

Marcellus GIFT City operates a Category III AIF feeder structure into the master fund. The firm said the platform has built more than $75 million in assets across over 1,000 investors through various structures for global investing over nearly four years.

The new strategy expands Marcellus’ GIFT City offering from global equities to a broader mix of equities, fixed income, commodities and real assets. Through ETFs, investors will also get access to thematic exposures such as nuclear energy and uranium, gold and semiconductors, according to the company.

For Indian high-net-worth investors, Marcellus said the multi-asset strategy is intended to provide a global investment and wealth preservation solution alongside its existing offerings. The firm said the strategy will also provide dollar diversification.

"Working with managers of VanEck's calibre is a natural extension of what we've built at Marcellus GIFT City. Indian UHNIs have long had to navigate inefficient, indirect routes to access the best of global assets — that changes now. This collaboration lets us offer our clients a well-structured, regulated and tax efficient route to world-class global investing, right from home,” said Saurabh Mukherjea, Founder, Marcellus Investment Managers.

The partnership comes as Marcellus seeks to expand the scope of global investing available through its GIFT City platform. The firm said Indian investors have so far experienced multi-asset investing primarily through Indian equities, bonds and gold, while the new strategy is designed to provide exposure across global asset classes.

"We're excited to partner with Marcellus to bring VanEck's Wealth Builder model to their clients. Our models go beyond traditional core allocations, combining equities, fixed income, and real assets within a systematic framework built to navigate today's shifting market environment. We look forward to supporting Marcellus as they expand the investment solutions available to their clients, ”Kristen Capuano, Chief Marketing Officer VanEck.
