Saregama rallies 6% on global licensing deal with ShareChat and Moj

Shares of Saregama India advanced 6 per cent in Thursday’s trade after the company informed bourses about a global licensing deal with ShareChat.

As part of this deal, Saregama will license its large catalogue to both platforms allowing for the large community of ShareChat and Moj members to create their own short video content using the Saregama library.

ShareChat is a social media platform that allows users to share their views, record their lives and make new friends-all within the comfort of their native language, while Moj is built by ShareChat for short video content in India.


The scrip gained 6 per cent to Rs 555 in on the BSE.

Saregama’s music library offers thousands of songs in diverse Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri amongst many others.

With this partnership, users would be able to use songs from legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Gulzar, Jagjit Singh, RD Burman, Kalyanji Anandji, Geeta Dutt and Laxmikant Pyarelal making their experience on the platform more engaging and fun.
