Samvardhana Motherson International, which was earlier known as Motherson Sumi Systems, on Tuesday announced that its board of directors has recommended the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1 bonus equity share against 2 existing equity shares.

The decision, which was taken at a board meeting of the company today, would require the approval of shareholders. The company intends to complete the exercise and issue the bonus shares within two months from the date of board approval i.e. by October 15, 2022.

After the bonus issue, the paid-up equity share capital of Samvardhana Motherson would be Rs 677.64 crore.


The auto stock has been under pressure as it is down nearly 44 per cent on a year-to-date basis. Following the announcement of the bonus issue, the stock was trading over 3 per cent higher at Rs 126.65 on the BSE.
