Ranbaxy post net loss of Rs 1032.33 cr in 2008

MUMBAI: Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has posted a net loss of Rs 806.55 crore for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2008 compared to a net profit of Rs 48.40 crore in the same quarter of 2007. Total income of the company increased to Rs 1,074.51 crore from Rs 1,038.11 crore in the quarter ended Dec 31, 2007.

Results for year ended Dec 31, 2008

The company has posted a net loss of Rs 1032.33 crore for the year ended Dec 31, 2008 against net profit Rs 617.72 crore in 2007. Total income stood at Rs 4585.78 crore compared to Rs 4194.18 crore in the year 2007.

Shares of the pharma major, which was taken over by Daiichi Sankyo, ended sharply lower by 9 per cent at Rs 186.10 on the BSE, on Thursday.
