MUMBAI: Shares of Rallis India surged nearly 8 per cent on low volumes after the agrochemicals maker said net profit for the quarter ended March rose 25 per cent helped by new products sales and price increases.

Rallis reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 72.02 crore for the year-ended March 31, 2009 against Rs 125.3 crore in FY08.

At 10:45 am, the stock eased some gains but was still trading up 6.8 per cent at Rs 95.65 on the NSE.
