Punj Lloyd bags Rs 1,005 cr order from Hyderabad govt

Punj Lloyd has bagged a contract valued at Rs 1,005 crore from GVK Power, Hyderabad, to work on the 2 X 270 MW Govindwal Sahib coal fired thermal power project in Taran, Punjab.

MUMBAI: Punj Lloyd has bagged a contract valued at Rs 1,005 crore from GVK Power, Hyderabad, to work on the 2 X 270 MW Govindwal Sahib coal fired thermal power project in Taran, Punjab. The project wll be completed by mid 2011.

The scope of the project involves the balance of plant work and entire civil work on engineering, procurement and construction basis.

Earlier, the company won a Rs 823-crore order from Rajasthan Vidhyut Utapadan Nigam, Jaipur for building up of 2x260 MW Chhabra thermal power station on EPC basis.

With this, the order backlog of Punj Lloyd Group has gone up to Rs 21,249.63 crore. This is the total value of unexecuted orders as of March 31, 2008 and new orders received till date.

On Thursday, Punj Lloyd shares ended down 7.76 per cent at Rs 199.65 on BSE.
