How did you find the relevance of the ET Pre-Budget event?
Minister Nitin Gadkari’s speech was insightful, giving details of the ground realities. We got the sense that the Budget is likely to maintain fiscal prudence while focussing more on the rural economy. We sincerely hope that the Budget will end up cheering the market while the common man too would not be deprived.
Will companies gear up for fund raising?
Private investment may pick up next fiscal year, increasing the need for money. Companies are increasingly tapping overseas bond markets, where investors too are finding comfort with Indian debt papers. Spreads (gap between the benchmark rate and final yields) have tightened reflecting investor confidence on Indian companies. We have clocked growth in arranging overseas bond-sales. We expect to sustain the pace.
