President not to attend NSE silver jubilee celebrations

Mumbai: President Ram Nath Kovind has pulled out of the event celebrating silver jubilee of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) scheduled for August 8.

The President’s Office informed the stock exchange that he will not be able to attend the event due to his busy schedule.

Invitations were sent out by NSE chairman Ashok Chawla and chief executive Vikram Limaye for the event, during which the exchange also plans to unveil a new brand identity.


The President, in his greetings sent to NSE, has complimented its pivotal role in providing a stable, transparent and globally trusted market platform, and extended his warm greetings and felicitations to the exchange and wished the silver jubilee celebrations success, the NSE said in a statement.

Various dignitaries, including cabinet ministers, will attend the function on August 8 in Delhi.
