Piem Hotels sells 27 lakh shares of Indian Hotels for Rs 21 cr

Tata Sons bought 27 lakh shares of Indian Hotels at Rs 78.9 a piece amounting to a total of Rs 21.3 crore, according to information available with the NSE.

MUMBAI: Piem Hotels today transfered 27 lakh shares of Indian Hotels to Tata Sons for over Rs 21 crore.

Piem Hotels and Tata Sons, among others, are the promotors of Indian Hotels.

Tata Sons bought 27 lakh shares of Indian Hotels at Rs 78.9 a piece amounting to a total of Rs 21.3 crore, according to information available with the National Stock Exchange.

Piem Hotels, which is an associate firm of Indian Hotels, held 0.61 per cent stake in the company as of March 31, 2010.

Piem owns and operates hotels under 'The Gateway Hotel' brand in Nashik and Agra and hotels under the 'Vivanta by Taj' brand in Pune, Lucknow, Mumbai and Bangalore.

As of March 31, 2011, Tata Sons held 19.24 per cent stake in Indian Hotels.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 79.75 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 1.14 per cent from the previous close.
