Shares of One97 Communication rose by 3 per cent to Rs 624 in Wednesday’s trade after the company said that their lending division performed strong and witnessed a run-rate of over Rs 23,000 crore worth of loan disbursements during April-May 2022.

Paytm’s lending entity showcased a 471 per cent growth with 5.5 million loan disbursements, the company said in a release. The total loan value for the two months grew by 829 per cent, which aggregates to Rs 3,576 crore, it added.

At Rs 1.96 lakh crore, a 105 per cent growth was seen in the fintech giant’s gross merchandise volume during the said period. The company reported that average monthly transacting users zoomed by 48 per cent to 74.3 million users on a year-to-year marker.


Paytm added that 3.4 million devices were deployed at merchant stores across the country; this increase in device adoption is proportional to the rise in the number of eligible merchants for loans on their platform, it said.

At 11:50 am, the scrip traded around 2 per cent higher at Rs 619.4 against its previous close of Rs 606.4.

One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm was founded in the year 2000 and operates in the services sector. It has a market cap of Rs 37,833.31 crore.
