NEW DELHI: The BSE Sensex was down around 100 points in the afternoon session with shares of Pan India Corp, Vardhman Special and Piramal Phytocare plunging over 5 per cent on Friday.

The benchmark equity index BSE Sensex was 62.81 points down at 29864.53 on Friday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the NSE , Pan India Corp (down 16.67 per cent), Shekhawati Poly (down 11.11 per cent), Gallantt Ispat (down 9.99 per cent), Zenith Birla (down 8.33 per cent), Vardhman Special (down 7.53 per cent), Northgate Com (down 7.14 per cent), BSEL Infra (down 4.73 per cent), Piramal Phytocare (down 4.70 per cent), Supreme Tex (down 4.65 per cent), GTN Industries (down 4.51 per cent) declined over 5 per cent on Friday.

In the Nifty pack, 21 stocks ended the day in green, while 30 stocks settled the day in red. The Nifty index was 19.90 points down at 9,242.05.

On the NSE, Shekhawati Poly, Gallantt Ispat, KSK Energy Vent, CL Educate Ltd., Persistent Sys, N R Agarwal Ind, FCS Software, Rasoya Proteins, VKS Projects hit their fresh 52-week low, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Consol Const., BGR Energy, Simplex Infra, Bedmutha Ind, Kirloskar Ind, Sanwaria Agro, T T Ltd, AdityaBirlaMoney, Jai Balaji Inds touched their fresh 52-week high today.
