ONGC Q3 net profit down 12.5% QoQ to Rs 4,352 crore

NEW DELHI: ONGC on Tuesday reported 12.5 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) fall in net profit at Rs 4,352 crore for the quarter ended December 2016, which was lower than Rs 4,836 crore, which analysts had predicted in an ET Now survey.

The oil major had reported a net profit of Rs 4,974.92 in the previous quarter, and Rs 1,465.88 in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

ONGC shares closed 0.25 per cent higher at Rs 202.15 on BSE. The company reported the earnings post market hours on Tuesday.

Total income from operation, or total revenue, rose 8.8 per cent on a sequential basis to Rs 20,013.95 crore for the quarter ended December 31, which was better than analyst projection of Rs 19,394 crore made in the ET Now survey.

The oil & gas major reported total income from operations of Rs 18,395.01 crore reported in the previous quarter.
