ONGC, IRCTC to trade ex-dividend on Friday; last chance to buy today

Shares of the state-owned ONGC and IRCTC are likely to remain in focus today as these companies announced a dividend payout for their shareholders and had fixed August 23 as the record date for the purpose.

Hence, today is the last day to buy the shares of these companies in order to be eligible for the dividend payout.

Here are the details of the dividends announced by these companies:

IRCTC

In the month of May, while announcing the fourth quarter results of the financial year 2024, IRCTC also announced a final dividend of Rs 4 per share for its eligible shareholders.

“The Board of Directors of the company at its 137h meeting held on Tuesday, May 2g,2024, has inter-alia: Recommended a Final Dividend of Rs.4/- per share of face value of Rs. 2/- each for the financial year 2023-24l@2ooo/o of the paid-up share capital, subject to the approval of shareholders in the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. This Final Dividend is in addition to the interim Dividend of Rs.2.S0/- per share l@125o/o of the paid-up share capital declared by the Board of Directors in November 2023 and already paid to the shareholders,” said the company in a filing to the exchanges.

Later in August, the company announced August 23 as the record date, informing that the dividend would be paid out within 30 days from the AGM.

IRCTC has declared 9 dividends since February 2020 and at the current share price of Rs 934, IRCTC’s dividend yield is 0.27%

The shares of IRCTC closed flat at Rs 934.60 on BSE on Wednesday.

ONGC

The board of ONGC had previously announced a final dividend of Rs 2.5 per share for its shareholders and announced August 23 as its record date later in August.

“This has reference to our communication dated 20.05.2024, informing that the Board of Directors, interalia, recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50/- per share for FY’24, subject to the approval of members. In terms of Regulation 42 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, it is hereby informed that Friday, the 23rd August 2024 has been fixed as the 'Record Date' for determining the eligibility of members for payment of Final Dividend for FY’24, if any, declared by the members of the Company in the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company,” said the company in a previous filing.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation has declared 58 dividends since August 2000 and at the current share price of Rs 327, ONGC’s dividend yield is 2.98%.

The shares of ONGC closed 0.7% lower at Rs 327.65 on BSE on Wednesday.
