NTPC Green Energy shares in focus following Green Ammonia bid win, project commissioning update
NTPC Green Energy's shares are set to gain attention following significant announcements from its subsidiaries. NTPC Renewable Energy secured a bid to supply 70,000 metric tonnes per annum of green ammonia to Krishna Phoschem at Rs 51.80 per kg.

he first update relates to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), which won a major green ammonia supply bid floated by SECI. The second involves the commissioning of a 75 MW capacity (Lot-5) of a 500 MW solar project managed by IRCON Renewable Power Limited (IRPL), a joint venture partly owned by NTPC’s green energy arm.

NTPC REL wins SECI green ammonia bid at Rs 51.80/kg
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has emerged as the successful bidder in a reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on August 4, 2025.
The auction was for the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MT/Year) of green ammonia supply.
The bidding was part of SECI’s larger tender for 7.24 lakh MT/Year of green ammonia, which is spread across 13 locations across India.
NTPC REL has been allocated the entire capacity for supply to Krishna Phoschem Limited at Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, at a winning bid price of Rs 51.80 per kg.
75 MW capacity of IRCON Renewable project commissioned
In a separate development, NTPC Green Energy has announced that 75 MW (Lot-5) of the 500 MW plant capacity of IRCON Renewable Power Limited (IRPL) has been declared as commercially operational.
IRPL is a joint venture of Ayana Renewable Power and a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy’s joint venture with ONGC, named ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd.
On Monday, the shares of NTPC Green closed flat at Rs 105.10 on the BSE.
